My Review – Crazy Hot! And Living on the Edge

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and I hope, should you purchase it, you would feel the same.  I like the author’s straightforward manner of writing and really saying things as they are – in this case – calling a spade a spade, when the need arises to do so.

Crazy! Hot! And Living On The Edge!! by [Harris-Slaughter, Shirley]
Much of what the author writes about with so much detail and honesty I’ve experienced myself and have seen my eldest daughter struggle daily with allergies and eczema, noticeably from three years on. And yes, to stand up against a very rigid medical fraternity takes guts and the courage of conviction which comes from having discovered the truth of a matter. In this instance, discovering which foods make you ill, how to avoid them and how to replace them with healthier, sustainable foods. I also liked that the author gives reasons for whatever it is she proposes. This book is going to be a pioneer on the front lines of better, healthier eating and living. We didn’t become such an ill generation overnight and it will certainly not be an overnight change, but the more people are made aware of the need to balance basic healthcare with nutrition, other than popping a pill, the better our quality of life will become. I’ve recommended this book to my daughter as a highly recommended read.

      • If you are on the inner workings of your WordPress.com (normally right at the bottom left hand corner click, you should see a drop down list of things you can add to your site. These asides are called Widgets and you have a choice where you would like them to appear – header footer or on the side. I’m on my iPad now, but I’ll try to copy the information over the weekend to you. 😀 Regards M

  2. Dear Shirley, I hope you see your comment here! “Hi Maretha. I’m having a hard time trying to comment on your blog review page so here is what I wanted to say…Maretha, what a pleasant surprise! I’m so glad you took something away with you from my story. It was very difficult to write and I almost allowed my voice to be stolen by my since-fired editor, so it gives me relief to know that you appreciated what you read. We always feel like we could have improved more, so getting an affirmation like this is wonderful. Thank you so so much. You just made my day. I would love to reblog this if I can.”

  3. Great review, I’m aware of the frustrations of dealing with a medical faction that don’t take the time to investigate fully. A book that enlightens readers and gives alternative diet replacements is a must read.
